Last month my 15-year-old student Chloe entered a NYC Songwriting competition and she won First Prize! She gets a mentoring session with Ben Lovett from Mumford & Sons, a recording session at Avatar Studios and a performance at City Winery. Such an amazing and talented kid!

Congratulations to two of my students! One got accepted to the Manhattan School of Music for his Master’s in classical guitar with a scholarship, and the other is going to Bard College as a Music Minor in classical guitar. Way to go students!

Michael Cioffero is a performer and music educator in New York City. He has a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in classical guitar and is the private lesson guitar instructor at the prestigious Dalton School in NYC, and taught at the highly esteemed 92nd Street Y School of Music for nine years. He has studied with Benjamin Verdery and Christopher Parkening among others and at Taller Flamenco Escuela de Flamenco in Seville, Spain.

Michael is a classical and electric guitarist and has regular performances in New York City and throughout the United States. At age nineteen he was one of twelve guitarists chosen nationwide to perform at the annual Christopher Parkening Master Class and has performed with the cast and Muppets of Sesame Street (New York, NY), a feature in Rolling Stone Magazine, performance with Terrence Howard at VH1 Studios (New York, NY), “VH1 Summer's End Concert” (Las Vegas, NV), “Amazing Video and Stories Behind Image #10” - Nippon International Television (Japan), “The Arts in Westchester” television show (Westchester, NY), recitals for St. Stephen and St. Martin Advent Concert Series (Brooklyn, NY), Off-Broadway play “El Poeta y el Compositor” (New York, NY), soundtrack for “Doctor Infierno” (Spain)
